Can I make my nanny work late every time I need her to, or do I have to ask her if she already has other plans?

You cannot be a nanny employer if you need to ask for approval from the handful of nannies on this forum who poison it with their anger.

Ha! Very true. Lately, it seems like the nannies are fighting amongst themselves. I think the crazies have hit a new low. They don't have credibility with anyone not even their peers.

True. I think the weird influx of ISYN posters and FB groupies have magnified the crazy here.

Agree. The new posters are crazy and stupid.

OP you're annoying posting numerous times. I wouldn't pay you more then $20 per night you greedy porker. Heck, I wouldn't even hire you to clean my shoes.

You're just mad. It'll be better tomorrow.

Unless the nanny doesn't get paid for the hours or employers get upset if the nanny declines, I don't see the issue with asking.

Politely asking is always welcome as long as you remember the nanny might already have other plans.

Can I make my nanny drive our kids in our old '96 Subaru (piece of junk) instead of her own "brand new light blue Lexus SUV"? Light blue is not cool.

This isn't a real thread with real questions from MBs, PP. It's a thread started by nannies to mock MBs. FYI.

Sorry 11:18. This is a mb direct quote.

Utterly embarrassing, but true.

We'd like to think that most nannies and mb's are intellegent, fair and thoughtful. In spite of our best hopes and wishes, however, there are some bad apples who should not be nannies, nor nanny employers.

Certainly we can all agree with that fact.

Can my confined nanny help herself to my special chocolate stash since she can't go out and get her own or should I tell her to bring her own to eat during the day?

This is not a thread to put down MB or start fights. I am not the OP but I feel like its more of a "haha what crazy things have you been asked to do"
I love working as a nanny the last thread I started was "what do you love about your current family" but can you honestly say that all nanny jobs are great? or that it's not okay to vent a little? Sometimes it's nice to know that your not the only one who has felt taken advantage of/ who has had problems at work. Nannying is very isolating when you think about the fact that we work alone all day. We don't have co workers to compare notes with so we come on here. Probably not the best solution but hey...to each their own. No need to get so hostile.
