I pay my night nanny $18/hour. DCUM is the only childcare site that inflates rates. I no many nannies and not one. I mean, not ONE, makes over $20/hour, OP.

You no many nannies, PP?

Somehow I'm not surprised you haven't encountered the fully-qualified, high-end ones...

Night-time work gets regular wages, if not more.

When babies are sleeping and her agreed upon duties are completed, she can certainly sleep if she likes. Obviously.

We have a 24hr nanny, and we don't pay her for 8hrs because she can usually sleep those hours, unless our baby wakes up. But he only usually wakes up for a few minutes to take a bottle. We pay our nanny $20 an hour for 16 hrs a day. The great thing, it's legal!

AS long as your nanny gets at least 5 hours uninterrupted sleep, it's legal. If she can't get 5 hours continuous, you are required to pay for all 24.
