| I am friends with my nanny on facebook, so I see her posts. Facebook has time stamps, so I see that my nanny is posting at times that are not naptime. I don't care what she does during nap, but it bothers me that she's on facebook during non-naptimes. |
| I guess it depends how often this happens. |
| I'm not friends with him on Facebook so don't see that. I don't think employees being friends with their bosses is a good idea. Boundaries are important. |

You shouldn't be friends with your nanny on FB at all.
I would be bothered by it as well but would let it go if everything else is ok. |
| I'd be more concerned that she doesn't seem to care that you know she's posting during non naptimes. |
| This is why I block my MB from all my social media. Heaven forbid nanny checks her phone for less than a minute when the child is playing independents during her 10hr day. You need to unclench, OP. If it's all day, fine. But really relax. |
+1 How does your boss feel about your DCUM surfing OP? |
| It bothers me a lot less than hypocritical MBs who post on DCUM when they are, presumably, not on a break at work either. |
| Not okay in my opinion, and I am a nanny. |
| LOVE how quiet this thread got after the web surfing MBs were called out. |
OH yes, you sure showed us. I'm at work now, munching on popcorn and playing on the nanny forum, while paying someone to watch my kids. Life is just a dream sh-boom sh-boom... |
This is OP. I have a toddler and a baby. There's no "independents" play happening at my house. |
| ^^ That's a shame, your kids are supposed to be playing independently, while supervised. Maybe you should spend less time on dcum and more time reading about child development. |
| It's not your place to determine the standards OP has in her house. |
