My little charge is on vacation this week... RSS feed

... and it is weird how often he crosses my mind. I'm having a great week off and loving being back in my pre-nanny life -- but I do think about the little guy and wonder how he is doing! I smile as I write this just thinking about him. He's a really amazing baby (10 months now) and I feel so lucky to have found such a fun and loving charge - I do love my job.

I will hate waking up early on Monday morning but I'm excited to see him!

I bet you are an amazing nanny. You have no idea how many mothers wish they could find someone like you.

Treasure your nanny when you find a good one!

When my charges vacation without me, or I'm out of town, I have the parents send me pics. Lol.

I always love seeing them on Monday morning after a week off. It always makes me realize how much I love my job after not seeing my little guys.

I'd love my daughter's nanny to feel this way about my daughter and the job - but I'm sure she doesn't.

I hope your employers appreciate you nannies who miss your little ones when they go away.

+1 It is great to see how the great nannies actually feel about their charges and jobs. I echo PP's hope that your families know how very lucky they are to have you.

Where does one find a nanny like you?

OP, I feel the same way. My two charges were on vacation this week and I kept thinking about them every day. I'm so glad I got pictures
They are here for one day and leaving again for two weeks next week.
I already miss them. I am so lucky to have them in my life.

This is such a great post! It makes me smile thinking that there are other nannies out there that truly love their charges. I know I do and I always have in my 12 years as a nanny. I take pictures of the kids almost daily and I do it mostly for the parents but I love having them to seeing their smiling, happy and silly faces.

Sometimes I catch myself telling cute stories about my charge to friends and family. I am just so proud of her..

Being a nanny - if you are doing it right - is hard and often tedious work. Loving your charges and wanting to help them learn and develop are really the only reasons I do this job.

I miss my "guy" when he goes away, too. Even now, as I write this on a Saturday morning, I'm smiling thinking about him.

My "little" gave me a kiss last week for no reason (he's six months) He just decided to plant a big, wet, opened-mouth kiss on my cheek. I'm still smiling about it.

Loving our charges is why we do this job... Well, maybe it is why the good nannies do this job.

You will be so happy come Monday morning, OP!
