This is so inappropriate. When we are vacationing as a family we are focusing on our family, not on taking pictures to send the nanny.

So don't send pictures, MB. Every family is different. My DD tells me to send her nanny various pictures when we're on vacation and it's fine with me.

I would love my kids to have a nanny like you -- like so many of you posting on this thread.

Don't fret yourself, PP - you certainly don't have to send your kids' nanny pictures when you are on vacation. My MB wants me to see what the baby is doing when they're away or even when the baby does something funny or cute at night when they are right here in town - I have never asked for any picture but do love receiving them. It's okay if you don't want to - no one is trying to steal your family time.

It is not inappropriate! Calm down, PP - this is not a competition between family and nanny. It takes two seconds to send the nanny a cute photograph of the kids from my phone.

MB here.

When we are on vacation, DD loves to send photos we take of her to her nanny. Nanny always texts back a sweet thank you or miss you.

I think it's charming they like to stay in touch and like each other so much. I can't imagine how this would interfere with my family time. In fact, it enhances it because it makes my DD happy.

It's nice to read how many nannies love their charges.

Obviously the parents don't mind a bit. Some of us can vacation with our familes AND send pics to our nanny at the same time.

This is such a nice thread with happy, loving nannies and appreciative and supportive MBs. Why would you crap all over it with your insecurities?

I'm having a great week off and loving being back in my pre-nanny life -- but I do think about the little guy and wonder how he is doing! I smile as I write this just thinking about him. He's a really amazing baby (10 months now) and I feel so lucky to have found such a fun and loving charge - I do love my job.

I will hate waking up early on Monday morning but I'm excited to see him!

It's not weird, OP, it is wonderful. I love how you wrote about what an amazing baby he is! So very sweet and generous of you.

You are what working mother wants - a nanny who loves her job and takes pride and joy in the child in her care.

I do miss my charge when he's away for more than a long weekend. It is impossible not to miss him. When you think of all the time we spend with our charges and all the care and attention we give them, it is only natural that we would miss them. Plus he is the cutest little bug in the world!!!

You do not want to start a "who is cutest in the world contest" among proud nannies! (cause my "little bug" would win anyway...)

Nannies, nannies, do not start this "charge competition"... because until you hear my three-year-old charge sing Katy Perry"s song "Firework" you don't know what a cute little bug is!!!

OP here and I'm pulling rank since I started this thread - and no one can top my little guy's giggle in the cute "bug" department or the way he "sings" when he is in his stroller!

This has turned into a lovely thread - thanks all.
