Im young, I speak English fluently, I'm educated, experienced, caring loving and so good wwhith kids. The family that I was working with loved mebut they discovered that I was undocumented so we had to part our ways because of their jobs. Would you hire me? |
No. |
No, we couldn't either. Do you qualify as a Dreamer? It's going to get harder and harder to get a job when you are undocumented. |
Is against the law,you have to look for sponsor ask her boss or you have to married American guy,or go back to your country and aPly for student visa or coming like alpair( I'm not sure about the correct name) or clean the houses.
Good luck. |
No I would not. Hiring someone here illegally would not impact our jobs, however it is still illegal. |
It depends.
Immigration laws change all the time. You said they had to let you go because of their jobs. If they are politicians, then I can see them firing you. Because as politicians, hiring an undocumented worker can screw up their political careers faster than anything. |
No, it is illegal to hire an undocumented worker, no matter what the employer does for a living. |
No I wouldn't. I'm not a politician or anything but I still wouldn't want to hire illegally. I would be too worried of something happening that could become a larger issue.
We made a conscious decision to make legal employment status a requirement when we searched for a nanny. It just felt morally important. Sorry. |
Our careera would not be impacted at all by hiring an undocumented worker. We would still never do it as we believe in paying on the books and legally. could you please point out what law is changing that makes it legal to hire an undocumented worker? OP, how did you become to be an undocumented worker. Depending on your situation, there are programs out there to help. I have one friend who found out she waa illegally adopted from North Korea and was able to get help becoming a citizen. I have another acquaintance who came here legally as a child with his family and then his father was murdered. His mom was terrified to leave the country when the visa was up, but she was also afraid to seek assistance on how to extend a visa, so they became illegal by overstayibg their visa. He is working with an organization to gai. citizenship |
I fully support you working but we could not hire you either as we have the same issue. |
My husband is a federal worker and we cannot hire an undocumented worker. In-fact if my husband knows someone who has one he is obligated to report it.
You'll have a difficult time finding someone willing to take the risk in this area. I'd recommend one of the legal options as listed above, or moving to another area. |
There are people who will- but you just have to look harder to find them. It might be someone who is from your same background who would be sympathetic. Your best bet would be finding someone through your social network that would have someone to vouch for you. |
There are still slot of people who would...Don't worry just keep looking and live by this statement...DON'T ASK DON'T TELL |
If you are looking for a family that has no issues with your immigration status search for jobs that say things like "Seeking a native spanish speaker" or "speak 100% spanish to my kids". They will not mind an undocumented worker and they will likely not pay or withhold taxes anyways so you will just get cash. |
Every upper middle class neighborhood playground and park is full of undocumented nannies. Where do you report them? |
