MB can't pay me but.... RSS feed

She can buy 3 packs a day and 4 bottles of vodka a week.

Ugh.

MB said she will have to add my pay to my next check because of financial hardships. I just get annoyed because obviously she has cash. You can't buy liquor and cigarettes with food stamps right?

Ok, I am getting sick and tired of nannies like you. What do you think we are going to tell you. You either need to stand up for yourself or quit. I can't even read this forum anymore because there are so many spineless nannies on here who let their bosses walk all over them.

And I am getting so sick of people like you 13:15. If you don't have anything helpful to add to the forum, please do us all a favor and go elsewhere. Its sad that people like you have nothing better to do all day except bash us "spineless" nannies. Guess what? This spineless nanny is telling you to bugger off.

For OP, you can't really say anything about how she spends her money, but I would be furious if my pay was being withheld. Next time you might want to say something like "I have bills that are due and can not be behind, would you actually mind paying me regularly?". If it becomes a normal thing, you might have to consider getting a new job. Good luck to you!

I'm pretty sure I did give her advice. She either needs to stand up for herself or find another job. My words might be harsh but if it helps the nanny realize she doesn't have to put up with this kind of crap then I think it is warranted. This is a public forum and I have the right to let other employers who read this know that this kind of behavior is not the norm and that most nannies will not put up with it. If the OP wanted all the responses to baby her and tell her everything will be ok, then this is not the forum she should be posting in.

I know. I find it so hard to believe people actually fell for it. Unless the other two are trolls too

Yup.

I did see once in the newspaper that a family in the projects had a "nanny". Even average income people can hardly afford a nanny.
OP, why do you feel you're a nanny and not a sitter?

OP here.

Not a troll.

I say nanny because I work 9 hrs a day and take the kids to things like Dr's appts and playdates. That being said, I agree with the advice of the first pp. However, it takes time to secure another position. I cannot just leave my job where I know I have a contract and eventual pay. I have been picking up some more hours doing babysitting jobs but, it bothers me that MB seems to have cash for everything but my paycheck.

Ok so if you're not a troll then how is it that you know she buys 3 packs/day and 4 bottles of vodka a week? Do you see her receipts? And how are you not concerned for the children if she's buying 4 bottle of vodka a week?

If you have a contract and she hasn't paid you, she has broken the contract. So your contact is null and void.

OP is definitely a troll.

Op here. She has stated before that she is now down to 3 packs a day. When she comes home four days a week she has a new bottle. This is not rocket science. If you think I'm a troll then stop responding.

yes I know the contract is now broken but I don't want to piss her off and she chooses to not pay at all and I have to involve courts and such. I'm interviewing new jobs this week and I will be submitting my notice.

So, OP, you didn't need any help. You already knew the answer to your question.

It was a vent. You guys are really a pack of vultures.
