Today I asked my 3 year old what he did today. He said "nanny took us to gas station". I was kind of shocked. I don't want my kids breathing in gas station toxic fumes. Is this irrational? I just called the nanny to ask if this is true and why she left this out of the Review of the day. I told her that I expect her to get gas before work hours and not have my kids hanging out at a gas station.
I told dh and he said I was overreacting. Who is right? Me or dh/nanny? |
Huh? I take my 3 year old to the gas station all the time. My car needs gas or we don't go anywhere. You only get gas in the car without kids? |
Call your doctor ASAP; your meds need adjusting. |
+1 |
Unless she was turning tricks at the gas station with your children, chill. |
Unless they hung out there for two hours while she flirted with the guy who works there, it's no big deal if she pulled in to put in a tank of gas in between running around with your kids. |
Really? She uses her own vehicle to transport your children and you're upset because she had to get gas? I can guarantee she is looking for another job. |
And some of you wonder why dedicated nannies get a bit jaded when it comes to dealing with certain "not so healthy in the head" parents. The children are *always* the easy part of my work. |
OP here. I just don't like my kids being exposed to all the toxins in the air at a gas station. Yes she is using her car, but I expect her to get gas before coming to work.
My son specifically recalled the gas station visit today, that must mean that they spent significant time there. Once I called her she said that she used her card to pay and didn't leave the kids in the car to go inside, I still don't like that they were hanging around a gas station! |
OP here. It wasn't just the three year old but the 7 month old as well. If she only had an infant, she would probably be getting away with this stuff. |
Oh come you people actually fell for this troll? Wow some of you are stupid |
Yes, because 3 year olds are always very reliable when it comes to asking them what they did and how long they spent doing it. It probably stuck out to him because he's never been to a gas station before due to your insane paranoia ![]() |
They were not hanging around the gas station. She stopped to get gas that she paid for in her car to drive your kids around. That is being really silly. |
You are being ridiculous. I feel sorry for your nanny. |
You are CRAZY overreacting.
Crazy. Do you plan to never get gas with your kids in the car? Crazy. |
