Or, what's the best thing you've done for your nanny?

Bought her a new car. For herself--we have a separate nanny car.

Loaned me money to pay my taxes so I didn't have to borrow from the bank or get a irs payment plan. Love my family.

Let me borrow one of their (out of only 2) personal vehicles while mine was pn the fritz. I'm a student so I needed to get to class and we don't live in an area where public transit is common/easy.

Also on a day when I was sick and stayed home, MB also stayed home and brought me drinks and snacks in the morning, lunch in the afternoon, and even offered dinner in the evening, but I told them she really didn't need to make an additional trip, because she'd already done SO much!

I am very lucky and feel extremely blessed.

Before my wedding my boss bought me 8 private personal training sessions with her trainer! I had mentioned once how awesome it would be and she surprised me.

They treat me like part of the family and have always gone out of their way to make me feel at home here.

Pay me on time, every time.

Do not micromanage me at all. 100% autonomy.

Give me free reign in the kitchen.

Tells me "Thank You" as I leave every day.

Give me a present for X-mas and my birthday.

Stocks the kitchen with everything I could possibly need for breakfast, lunch, and even dinner... including drinks and snacks, even though I'm a LO

Says "Thank You" several times/day

Doesn't mind if I occasionally meet up with my sisters or friends while on duty to eat somewhere or take a stroll (charge is only 8 months, so she's either sleeping during this time or is content to go on strolls to new places and have new people to cuddle/play with)

Buys me gifts/cards for my birthday, Christmas, and other special occasions

MB finally went back to work after 6 months of hell working for a SAHM (or shall I say sleep all day and shop oniline mom) on 'maternity' leave. I'm happy I got paid so much because she didn't want to be with her kid, but it was really hard concealing my true feelings about my Boss. She couldn't even be bothered to breastfeed, so yes the best thing she did was go back to work.

One of my former employers offered to take me shopping for an outfit for a big event I was going to. She bought me a stunning $300. suit that I still love to wear. She was a true gem in so many ways.

Bought me cupcakes and a charm bracelet on my birthday, when my own family couldn't be bothered to remember.

Let me take their kids on roads trips. I love to travel and I love to travel with kids. My charges and I have been to visit my mother (lives near the beach) about 5 times now, and we have been to Williamsburg and Jamestown and Luray caverns. This summer we are going to Gettysburg and even on a LONG trip up to Niagara Falls to visit a former nanny family of mine. I am so excited to have all of "my" kids together at once. I love that they trust my judgement and my relationship with my charges enough to let me have these amazing adventures with them.

How do you work out the finances for the trips?
