What things do MB and DB do to annoy you? RSS feed

I've been at my job since December. Honestly in my head I have to admit I'm not as in love with my job as I once was. It's not because of the children I think I'll always love children but the parents and I just can't shake the fact me and this family (including the kids) don't click.. MB and Db do little stuff that really annoy me such as:

-not rinsing off the dishes they use before i get here, leaving pots and pans in the sink from the night before again not rinsing them off.
-Ignoring my suggestions and feedback about the children.
-MB is a micro manager it's super annoying.
-she spoiled the baby to the point it makes it hard for me to work with her. (The baby's 7 month)
-Having me fold the whole family's laundry instead of just the kids like the contract says (I'm sorry I really don't want to see MB and dB's underwear)
-Honestly I think they might be racist, I'm not a troll, I'm black and they're white. I worked for a lot of white familes none have ever acted like this. I was invited for a family event where most of MB's family and friends avoided me and acted awkward. My mom went with me and also noticed this. Especially her immediate family. A couple of them even talked down to me. Also they've made comments to me that made me think they are. This summer they want me to avoid certain parks because they think there might be a shoot out or unsafe. Very not true seeing as though I'm from this area. I believe they only say that because there is an apartment complex close by and there are families of different races who play. They then directed me to a place where mostly white families go I don't know if they realize but it will be awkward for me. They constantly make rude comments about my hair and mock me when I wear wigs.

They pay me on time, give me raises, give me moorings off for doctors appointments.

It bugs me I have nothing to birch about here.

Leaving crusted food from the night before on the high chair tray. I've asked repeatedly that it be washed off when they finish, as I am always mindful to do so myself. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to most things, but that just sends a message to me that they can't even be bothered to do something so easy and trivial and will instead leave it for me to deal with in the morning. It speaks to a general attitude they have about me and my "place".

They leave their weekend dishes for me to do on Mondays.
They ask me to potty train the 2 y/o but put her in diapers when I'm not there.
They're 5-20 minutes late everyday.
They don't bathe or change their kids on the weekend, seriously, on Mondays the kids are wearing the same clothes I dressed them in on Friday.
They leave trash cans and the diaper pail full so I have to empty.
They don't put a bib on the baby when he eats and expect me to miraculously get out those stains.

This sounds borderline abusive...I can understand skipping baths on occasion but not changing clothing over 3 days?!

^^ my bosses do the same crap! The baby is almost without fail wearing the same outfit I put him in on Friday when I walk in on Monday. It's really quite sad. Weird thing is, they love their son, just fail to realize he's a human being with needs not some play thing to pay attention to/ignore at your whim.

WTF. Is that for real? Wearing the same clothes from Friday until Monday morning? Do they not go out over the weekend? See friends/family?

12:52 here. Mine don't. They occasionally go to church which are the weekends he get bathed and new clothes I suppose, but otherwise they stick to themselves, order everything online, and have groceries delivered. Video games and TV abound.

Yep, it's for real. They don't do it every weekend. Maybe 2 weekends a month or so. But it bugs me and makes me feel bad for the kids. I have my own children and couldn't imagine letting them wear one outfit all day Fri, sleep in it Fri night, wear it again sat, sleep in it sat night, wear it sun, sleep in it sun night then on monday hand them over to the person who dressed them on friday, and tell them to bathe the children.

Nothing at all. Love my employers and I hope I don't annoy them, either!

Will never understand why every conference call is taken on speakerphone when mb/db work from home. Especially during nap time. Drives.me.insane.

My current employers are perfect, 6 month mark and nothing yet. If I had to pick something I'd say maybe when MB finds out a new bit of info about parenting and tries to explain the philosophy to me. It is usually very novel things that I have learned, studied, and practiced for years. But she seems to think she is "teaching" me something new. She is a first time mom, but the weird thing is some of the things I would have told her the week before and showed her with DC, then she comes with this "revelation" after some online researching. It's irritating but I just smile, and add in a few things here and there.

Previous employers have done everything on each PP above lists. Literally every single one.
