Nanny of over 14 years and babysit on the side. I think you can find someone for all of those minus wearing a mask for a prolonged time . But best of luck in your search![]() |

I think OP means someone who is willing to mask; no only wearing a mask in public. She means wearing a mask INDOORS aswell; when she is working inside the house. |
That's why we have precautions and mitigations measures in place within a hospital setting and I extend those at home because I wouldn't want to put our childcare provider at risk. Thanks for looking out for the people in my home. |
you mean you do PCR in the lobby? Because if it's just rapid antigen then you are being silly. That test only works if person has symptoms, and even then you need to do it twice, and I assume no one in their right mind would come to work with the baby while having any symptoms of cold, so you are just wasting tests. |
The RATS can be a pretty good predictor of infectiousness at a given point in time, so yes, RATS right before a shift. I would rather choose "silly" as you call it than end up in my ICU |
Rapid tests were not designed to test someone without symptoms. This means that any given negative can be pretty much false negative. Read instructions, OP. It is only reliable for person with symptoms, and single tests does nothing, it needs to be re-taken within 24 hrs to confirm a negative test. So, in your case, it is placebo - it just makes you feel safer but it does not in fact make you safer. |
You can totally find someone. I was wearing a mask at every care date including my regular family - I have a part time 32 hour nanny position, plus provide ad-hoc care for about 20 other families - up until March of this year, where I now just mask in a few families' homes that prefer it, including one where the little guy is currently going through chemo treatments. I absolutely understand and don't take it in any wrong way. |
So you were in close contact with up to 21 households? I wouldn't call that Covid-safe. |
+1 |
This is inaccurate. You can use RATS in conjunction with masks to optimize safety. RATS are a good indication of infectiousess at one point in time. I would not rely on them to go YOLO or anything. I would still use the in conjunction with masks. |
x a million OP would have less exposure if the youngest were in daycare. |
