Actually the parents are doing the Nannie’s job and she is a basic babysitter at best. |
No, they aren’t doing the nanny’s job, PP. For your sake, I hope you aren’t a nanny. |
Certainly this is a mom PP. |
OP here, It's not my job to cook. Food is cooked and prepared before I get to work. Also I don't clean their mess from the night before. My job is to keep the kids occupied and safe for eight hours. Kid throw up her breakfast, so I need to wash her clothes. The washer and dryer is never empty as usual. Same with the dishwasher. I hand wash our daily dishes and put away |
What did the mother-employer say, OP? |
This morning the mom asked me if it was possible to change my mind about quitting if we upgrade my work hours. I said no, I need my hours to stay 7 am to 3pm to fit my children school schedule. She was not happy with my answer. I took this job specifically for that reason. |
All the best, OP! |
Thank you so much! I am can miss the kids but I need a stress free environment and family that respects my schedule. |
So, you are a basic babysitter as even babysitters cook for kids. This is their home. They work full time and then come home to have to clean up to you, have the kids needs and household. It’s not reasonable to have everything perfect. Rinse the clothes in the sink and leave it for them. One shirt or outfit is eastful to wash alone. |
Good luck finding a job with those hours. |
Sure if it makes you feel better! I work with kids with special needs.Autistic speech therapy and behavioral issues. My background is in social services and special need population. I didn't sign up to cook and clean. |
You sound barely educated. Good luck finding another job. |
Good on you OP for standing up for yourself!
If all Nannies did just this - then employers would learn to treat their own Nannies w/the respect that they deserve! |
As a working mom, I pretty much always have a load of laundry in the washer and dryer. I always start a load before leaving the house. And I definitely will leave dishes in the sink from the night before a couple of times a week. Not all the dishes - just the ones that didn’t fit in the dishwasher.
Why would this affect a nanny? |
Good for you. I hope you find a nice, clean family. There is no excuse for leaving na mess for nanny and I would not clean it for them. |
