I think most of these payroll companies actually delay the nanny’s first paycheck by three weeks.

No hourly employee can go three weeks without a paycheck. In fact, I doubt that most people can afford to go three weeks without a paycheck
Far too many families employ a nanny and cannot afford a nanny. The first time a nanny isn't paid on time is when she starts looking for a new job. Also, I do not understand why it would take three week to get first check. I have a small business, fewer than 50 employees, and payroll company deposits check into their account every other Friday without fail. There is no holding back money. This is the same for salaried and hourly employees.

Thank you for sharing this. Nannies need to know.

I'm so sorry this is happening. Its annoying and a pain in the ass, but you need to speak up for yourself. And if it keeps happening look for another job with someone that will pay on time. Not sure if you're being paid cash or what. You can send a payment request each week through Venmo or cashapp. You can also put a reminder on your phone. The family can also sign up for a service like nestpayroll with handles paying nannies and deals with taxes too.
