Yes, dear, we know. We’re all trying to tell you that you can get respect AND a great holiday gift!!! The two are not mutually exclusive. I am respected, appreciated, and well-paid AND love the gifts I get on holidays and birthdays. |
The employers who gave me gifts I could actually use and/or enjoy thought about who I am. They didn’t come on an anonymous site to poll random nannies. |
First, you have no idea if that’s true. Second, there is nothing wrong with getting ideas. I wrote a post about what to get my husband for our 30th anniversary last year. Third, this is a post about your best gift ever - not what to get your nanny. |
Wonderful and thoughtful gift! |
|
The first year they gave me nothing
Plus not OT and not pay holidays etc The 2nd they gave a used tv I did not ask For it and I did not need it He said marry Chrismas
|
In your entire nanny career, that was your best gift? A used tv you didn’t want? |
|
I did not say that was my "best gift"
The families I been working never give me Anything even if I working more than they expected Or I was doing a great job, after some time I Decited to leave allmof them, now tired of them I Am ready to find a wonderful family,I can't believe After all my hard work they were so ungrateful But any way it is what it is,I know the post says your best I was just sharing my experience |
| Two weeks salary and framed picture of my nanny kids. |

$200 Target gift card
|
| This year: three books in my favorite series (including preorder on the one coming out in the spring), an unscented candle, $50 for kindle books (for me, I already use the household card for unlimited kindle books for the child and as discipline/caregiving/special needs), $100 for whatever takeout/delivery I want (I already get whatever groceries I want), $1000 cash, $200 towards a pastime that the parent and I both enjoy, a new air purifier, and an abject apology for going along with the child’s birthday wish which gave half the party covid just as Christmas hit. |
This is your best gift? Find a new job as this is cheap. |
