For my birthday, my employer got all the children I have nannied together (except one) and had a beautiful professional photo done. They also gave me a book of outtakes with photos of the parents and kids all having fun together. Best and most thoughtful gift ever for me as I’m still close to all my former charges (except one).

Respect, appreciation and good pay all year long. Unlimited ability to take my charge wherever I wanted, set any schedule that works best for my charge, and complete freedom to set nutrition, rules and chores as seemed appropriate.

I have the same in my job but the two-week bonus and new APL running shoes are sweet!

PP nanny from above with the group photograph. I was given an Apple Watch as a signing bonus with my current employers three years ago and it’s the best gift for a nanny. I love it. I can keep my phone in my backpack and get alerts from my charges parents on my watch. Plus call 911.

My point is that with those, my employers also show they respect and value what I do all year. Multiple bonuses throughout the year, 3 weeks of vacation to take when I want it (contract says 2), invitations to join them whenever I want for vacation and/or outings, food with no limits anytime they order, unlimited healthy food in the house (including salmon and out-of-season produce), etc. I don’t want someone to order shoes for me, and the only other thing I’d want is a new Apple Watch, since mine is getting old. I do appreciate being valued all year, and I am happy to buy myself what I need.

My employers do the same, PP. I appreciate being valued all year as well. But the point of this thread is “best gift”.
