Nonsense. Teachers have many, many students and nannies have only a couple of kids. They should be vaccinated as others in their age group. |
Again, the vaccine will not stop you from spreading covid. It will stop the person vaccinated from getting sick from covid. Nannies are as essential as daycare teachers to the work force. My guess is that nannies and daycare teachers will be vaccinated at the same time. |
If the vaccine only keeps you from getting as ill as you would otherwise but doesn't stop the spread, then how can you be forced to take it? No one makes you take the pneumonia vaccine for example. |
I doubt it. Nannies don’t have high exposure like daycare workers and teachers. |
BECAUSE the nanny will have less chance of spreading it and far, far less possibly (95%) of missing work due to illness or coming to work sick. More like the flu vaccine. |
Not true. |
Agreed. Federal government just weighed in and employers can require it as a condition of employment. I don’t think these plans split hair enough to distinguish among types of childcare workers, but the couple I’ve reviewed say childcare workers will get priority. I hope it includes nannies as my nanny wants to get it ASAP. I don’t blame her! I do too but am young with no underlying conditions or any essential job. |
I’m a nanny and no I won’t take it. I would let you fire me because I want to work for smart people. |
Not true. It depends on where you live. Here in Los Angeles the mayor made nannies essential workers so I didn’t get to sit home in my pajamas and collect the dole, so I’ll be right up there front of the line getting my shot. |
Bye bye! |
Really? Great! |
Nannies are essential. But our exposure rates are much lower than other (group) childcare workers. |
True but some of us work for two parents who are in medical fields or otherwise unable to work from home and essential to society. |
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha |
