Nonsense

$20 an hour for an unskilled job is reasonable. I have done the job several times when I was younger.

Good luck with that attitude, PP. The market sets the rate, not your opinion on nannies. Let us know who you get to care for four children at $20 an hour.

Illegal immigrant with no skills in reading and writing English who will run the moment ICE gets too close to her or her family.

Why can't you "moms" ever be a mom? Take a leave of absence from your precious job and be a mother to your 4 children! Why the eff did you even have them??

4 kids and other duties. Not enough money in the world. Seriously $30 an hr? Full time?

Even the actual mom of the 4 kids isn't willing to raise them herself! She flees the house every day.

Why can’t you see that most moms are doing their best? Why can’t you expect the same from dads?

Then, you'd complain there are no jobs. Moms working gives child care workers their jobs.

Either mom or dad stays home and raises the 4 kids they put into this world. Whomever earns less.

If they were doing their best they would rear their own children and clean their own house.

I’m a nanny. I want parents to work so I have a job. Kids do just as well (or better, once they are toddlers and preschoolers) with an educator type nanny as compared to being with a sahp.

I honestly want to know why some women have 4 children yet have no interest in raising them Couldn't you just stop at one or two?

At least when they get to be teens you will no longer need to have a housekeeper. 4 people make a great cleaning teem and they actually earn their allowance. A great family activity on Saturday mornings.

Or work part-time so you can be home when they are not in school. My mom was a legal secretary (terrific $$) and she worked 9-2. She got the 3 of us ready for the school bus in the morning and was home when the bus dropped us off in the afternoon.

Good for your mom but those jobs are few and far between. I am assuming you don't have kids if you are making those comments. If Moms stayed home, you wouldn't have a job,

You create your own circumstances. Don't depend on others to give you your ideal job. Market yourself. My 9-2 mom had offers galore. Her degree was actually in marketing but full-time business/travel jobs don't jibe with mommy-hood. My mom really did put that marketing degree to good use when she herself created her ideal job.

Most employers can’t/won’t park down a job to school hours, plus give every holiday and snow day and vacation day off. Be realistic. It may have worked for your mom 20-50 years ago (it did for my grandmother ~50 years ago). But even teachers can’t do it now.
