And the family can fire you when you’re not there. I know several families who are dropping off things from kids during quarantine, that way they know if nanny/AP are actually doing it.

Considering the surging no.# of positive cases in FLA, I would feel a little uneasy w/her going there.

Going to New Zealand would be a much wiser choice for her.

But I have to agree w/the other posters that she should quarantine for two wks. upon her return.

It is entirely up to you whether to pay her or not.
A good compromise could be paying her for only a week....?

A lot of people do. A beach is a beach.

Pay for her to get a covid test and stay home until results are back. In our area they take 2 weeks to return results so that doesn’t really help, but if it’s faster where you live that could help?

What is she going to Florida for? If it’s just a vacation for fun (wouldn’t even be fun at this point?) or visiting friends I would question her judgement in general. In May I travelled to Virginia Beach from California to see my partner I had been away from for 6 months and my employers felt okay about it only because we didn’t leave his house and numbers there were not raging at the time. When I returned I wore a mask to work and got a test 5 days after my return for the best chance if I did have it, it would have shown positive at that point. Got the negative result and I could return with no mask. But if she is going for a good reason like PP mentioned, funeral, visit sick family member, etc it is not fair to ask her to quarantine unpaid.

With Florida spiking, the only question should be whether the quarantine is paid or unpaid. If it’s anything but a funeral, quarantine is unpaid. If she’s going for a funeral (unlikely given the planning!), it should be paid.

She is not going to stay in her house for 14 days when she returns. You folks need to acknowledge reality.

All my Hispanic students do. They whole family goes and stays with more family. For Hispanics, the weather is no different from El Salvador or Honduras.

I notice on their Facebook and Intagram posts that even my super liberal left wingnut friends in Atlanta are returning to their normal activities, most with no masks. Haircuts, dancing, boating parties, barbecues, etc. I worry for them. Thank goodness I am not of their political persuasion and still have my senses.

My "incredibly woke" colleague here in "incredibly woke" MoCo is going to the beach in Georgia this week with her boyfriend. Agree being liberal does not make you smart. Covidiot.
