We did a $100/wk raise and also made clear how much we appreciate her. We also let her postpone her scheduled vacation time with the hope she can take a nice trip when things clear up. My husband was deployed to help with COVID efforts on the west coast, so we are very grateful that she has stepped up for the extra hours. |
We doubled pay because our AP's duties doubled. |
Just wanted to say that you sound like an amazing AP and your English is so good! (ESL teacher here!) |
We are paying extra 50 per week. Work is much harder now and she is critical to me being able to do my job. |
We bumped from $200 to $250 a week |
Yes, we bumped to $250 too, and have thrown in a few periodic thank you cards over the last month |
We already paid $250 and paid a $200 bonus for the first month. But if this keeps going I think we're going to need to pay more to keep her. She's German, and all of her friends from orientation have gone home. |
Out AP is 9-5 and responsible for school work which is no cakewalk. We are paying $400/wk. I'd be paying 2.5×s that for a nanny so we are still getting an amazing cheap childcare relative to US labor prices. |
We are paying $300 a week, up from $200 a week. I couldn't keep working full time without her. |
and we are paying $1000/week! jk anyone can write anything ![]() |
we started paying ours extra--and guess what? AP is blowing it on crappy food delivery every single night. It's her choice, but it's really annoying since she is on a so-called diet |
I would be more worried of the virus exposure from the daily delivery ugh |
Who in the world cares about what she is spending the extra money on?!? Such an odd irritation. We are paying $60 extra per week. It looks like my au pair is also using a bunch of the additional money for food deliveries, but since she is not going anywhere right now, she mentioned that she is saving a ton of money. Most people are “stress-snacking” / indulging, and the au pairs have a right to do so as well. We have young women here, away from their families, stuck in the house, in the midst of a pandemic ... |
Because she claims to want to lose weight which is why she stopped eating our *healthy* dinners yet is perfectly fine spending it on crap food. It's hypocritical. Am I going to stop it or say something? Of course not. do what you need to do to cope. I can be annoyed and vent on an anonymous forum. I thought that's what these were for? |
She may not like your cooking as it is different han what she is used ot. How she spends her money is her choice. She earned it. Does your employer determine how you spend your money? |
