But the kid is 2 though not 1. What are y’all talking about?

Career nanny here, with plans no having children. Thinking about my own things, I would be angry. I am highly particular and an, “oops, I wasn’t watching closely enough” would infuriate me. But I am able to have nice things because I do not have children. If it is within reach, expect it to be reached one way or another. So do a sweep of your entire home and see what needs to be changed, because 2-3Y/Os are “adventurous”! But I would be honest with the nanny and say that you are very disappointed that this has happened on her watch and that you expect her to be more attentive.

That’s why we only have black furniture and keep a can of paint in our garage that matches every wall. Someday I will have the house I dream of but it is post-child. It is just not worth the frustration right now.

Depending on your kids, it could be as soon as preteen

It depends. I would be annoyed if the nanny made no real efforts to clean it up.

I might also be annoyed if it was such extensive mess that the nanny could not have been paying attention for a really long time.

Yes things happen and if there’s more than one child, or if one is very hyper, it’s very hard to keep an eye on them!
The other day grandpa cane to watch kid for the night
Next day he told me he watched a movie with 2 year old
Grandpa closed his eyes for 2 min
Kid grabbed a tissue box , ripped them out all over the house haha!

And may I add don’t buy nice furniture lol
As they get older and fight run around, throw balls through the house....
