My current employers are great and it’s a great job. I may let down my defenses a bit with them.

Never mix business with pleasure. You do not buy your meat and potatoes at the same store. In other words, keep it professional.

No. She lives about 40 min away. She was able to buy a townhouse and is renting a couple of rooms based on what we paid her and a little help from her kids though. So I'm thrilled for her. I ended up signing a lot of employer and income verification forms that's how I know.

My, my, aren't you just so effing wonderful that you're to wonderful to eff. Aybe if you paid her a livable wage she wouldn't need roommates. Also, it is despicable that you are putting her private business on even an anonymous chat room.

No, I’m not friends with my bosses, I’m an employee. I’ve been with my job for 10 years. It’s much easier to say no to things when you aren’t friends, so I keep it professional and don’t get taken advantage of.

No thanks. That is not who I am. I am an older retired teacher and never pretended to be your definition of “professional”.

Never. I brought my old charges to my house because my mom and sister wanted to meet them. I did this a few times because they loved coming over to my house. I was in my early 20s when this happened and still lived at home.

My aunt is also a nanny and has worked for this family for 10+ years and always brings them to her house for playdates with my aunts grandkids and invites them to grandkids parties. So mb and dB have seen her house and been inside.

Nanny here. My employers have been to my house a few times. I have worked for three families over the years.

Family number one had one infant. One time, My son and his wife and my grandkids were visiting from out of state. After the baby woke up from her afternoon nap, she and I went to my house for the last hour or so of the work day so that I could visit with my grandkids. MB picked up baby at my house after she got off work that week.

Family number two had kids who were 6 and 8 when I started with them and 10 and 12 when I finished working for them. One time my MB had to work late. Her work was close to my home. The oldest kid had a violin lesson close to my house. Youngest kid had karate lesson close to their house. I dropped off youngest kid at karate and DB picked him up from karate when the lesson was done. After I dropped off youngest kid, I took oldest kid to violin. After violin we went to my house and MB picked her up from my house.

With family number three, the kids were 1 and 4 when I started with them and 4 and 7 when I finished working for them. The kidscame to my house a couple times, but not the parents. However, there was this one time where my responsibilities to family number two and family number three overlapped by about an hour, and family number three ended up picking up their kids from the house of family number two. That day I had to pick up four kids from two different elementary schools and one preschool.
