What makes it illegal? The number of families or the number of children? Would 2 families with 3 children be illegal in a share? |
Well since you’re snorting, I’m not surprised you and the ppl you know pay such extremely low wage. That nanny is an idiot. No smart (or legal) person would take $16/hr for a share. I passed on $20/hr for a share bc that’s ridiculously low too. |
Once again, I do not argue. Try the lowest amount listed here and see who you can get and keep. I certainly think $40 to $45 is closer to the amount for s good, experienced nanny. |
A three-family share is going to be a bigger hassle than a family with three kids. Three sets of parents to deal with and possibly three different locations. I suppose you could pay $8/hour each, but I doubt you get a very good nanny at that rate. I think you'd need to pay closer to $15/hour per family to get someone good. |
We have three children in our nanny share, we gave her $33, we are renewing her contract end of May, of this year. She has 17 years of experience, and has been in a couple of shares before. She works 55 hours a week, we are in Westend DC. |
Yes it's legal. A couple of families do it in DC area. |
nice job sock-puppeting, OP. |
I would personally charge $36, $12/hr/family. The nanny makes more in a share and you pay less. |
I would take $33 |
I wouldn’t do three toddlers and dealing with three mothers for less than $45. $15 per child. |
Geez, why don’t these parents send their kids to daycare! |
In most locales, the number and age of the children combined with the number of families. I would suggest contacting osse to clarify. “If you require additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact OSSE directly at (202) 727-1839.” |
It's clearly ILLEGAL. |
Actually, I looked for a definition of nanny share, since a nanny share is exempted in DC from the recent push for education. However, I couldn’t find a definition, which is why I suggested OP call osse. Most people define a share as two children and two families, in the home of one or both of the families; the only question for legality is how osse defines nanny share. |
I have heard of only one definition. The one you said... |
