| Funny thing happened last week. Grandma came over to play with my four year old charge. He told her she was the puppy, and then proceed to tie a rope around her neck, with her help. She actually allowed him to pull her around on the floor! What do you all think about that? |
Why should we think anything about it? If it was fun for grandma and the child, why do you care? |
+2. No one forced you to do it, OP. If grandma didn’t have a problem with it, why would you? |
| Op sounds lazy. Perhaps you need to retire and volunteer at a library. |
| Yes you are. You are being paid to do that. |
I think it’s odd and something I wouldn’t do, but to each their own. |
Why wouldn't you do it seeing it's part of playtime with the child? |
Bc I don’t want a rope tied around my neck and to be dragged around on all fours. I would instead say “oh that sounds like fun but let’s do it with these toys instead so we can each have a puppy.” I would then show them how to make leashes on their stuffed animals and pretend we each had a puppy to drag around. I would ask what we should name them, where we are going to show off our new puppies, etc. You want a rope pulling around your neck more power to you. Like I said, to each their own. |
| I don't think it's a good idea to allow a child to have a rope around the neck of any human being. What would that be teaching him? |
+1. This was a bad game. What happens when he decides to play it with another child???? |
Why would anyone tell a 4yr old kid "oh that sounds like fun!" to get a rope around your neck? Some of you are scary. |
Did you even read the whole response you are replying to? |
You're still scary. |
Ask Grandma. |
No one expects Grandma to be the professional, but the nanny should know better. Most nannies here sound more like babysitters who don't know much more than Grandma. |
