MB thinks I am teaching my charge to be too cauy RSS feed

Your MB is an idiot. Just let the cars run over her child. Lol.

How do you not know what she meant, OP? How did you not ask in the moment what she meant when she said that you were being overly cautious?
Maybe there is something that you do or something you say, or maybe your MB has noticed something odd in her daughters behavior. Or maybe she is schizophrenic and believes her child should run into oncoming traffic for some delusional reason and you need to call CPS. How did you not care to ask and instead make a cryptic post on DCUM?

Jokes, by definition, are supposed to be funny. That was not funny.

So you would have been better off getting your fingers smashed in doors and getting hit by a car?

You weren’t raised cautious - you were born cautious. Sorry your life didn’t work out. I am extremely cautious with physical things and safety conscious but have backpacked all over the world and taken intellectual as well as financial risks. I still look both ways before crossing the street.

+1. Cautious and fearless are two totally separate things. People always confuse the two.

Update: OP here and I let my charge have more freedom at the park and she fell and skinned her shin. I am so pissed at myself for being effected by my MB’s “joke”!! And guess what? MB is upset that her child got hurt and is cold to me now.

Wait, are there people who believe that children should get through their childhoods without ever scraping their knees?
