Parents who low ball you because the infant sleeps half the day

Babies don't sleep because they are bored. Newborns sleep a lot, but then they grow and stay awake more. And i doubt that parents like this will raise the rate when the baby is more alert--they're just cheap. WHich is why they are trying to pay $3-5/hour for child care.

Op here. Try $2 per hour. They need 10 hours per day.

You said $150-175, so 10 hour days would be 50, 60 or 70 hours. That’s just over $2/hour for 7 days to $3/hour for 50 hours.

Regardless, it’s ridiculous.

It seems common based on all the lowball offers on care.com. And the funny thing is, these people don’t think they are cheap.

True. Same for the parents here who say "My nanny is well paid". If they don't say how much, that means she isn't.
