Would you find this weird? RSS feed

I don't find it weird. I find it competent. I also find it endearing that she's not asking you to pay for it.

I would reimburse her and commiserate about it.

I think it’s odd she bought the pants with her own money instead of letting me know she forgot an extra pair and asking if she can use the nanny CC. That’s why she has the CC, for cases like this. It’s almost like she didn’t want me to know she forgot.

Well considering how your acting now, she probably thought you would freak out on her for forgetting extra clothes. Quick thinking on her part. I hope you told her it was “okay” and reimbursed her!

Yeah, the fact you're using the word 'confront' tells me your nanny wasn't comfortable telling you this. Why that is only you can know!

+1. I'm guessing she knows you well enough to know the permission to use the card would have come with an admonition to do a better job of checking the diaper bag.

It was worth $5 to her not to get the lecture.

Ugh, I wish I had caught this thread earlier cause it’s kinda hilarious. Everyone has already said exactly what I was thinking while reading OP’s “dilemma” and it’s awesome, lol! .

We have a consensus!

I would have done the exact same thing and I wouldn't have thought twice about it or mentioned it.

Rarely do you ever get 100% agreement on DCUM. You are wrong, OP, and a jerk for even worrying about this enough to post about it.

Troll. You can tell by the nondescript thread title.
Nice try!

Dumb question, new to dcum; can someone explain the whole calling out a “troll”? Meaning the post is fake? What would be the point of someone making up a fake scenario ....

Some people want to try out their creative writing skills to see how many of you fall for their nonsense.

Your Nanny made a little mistake.

It was really no big deal and she probably didn’t want to face your obnoxious wrath so she didn’t mention a word about the incident.

I don’t blame her.

She did a very kind, thoughtful & generous thing for you + your child.

How on earth can you find ANYTHING weird about what she did...??!
Do you have issue w/your child dressed in a pair of pants that were purchased via a clothing outlet??!

Its happened once to all of us. I started to keep second diaper bag for emergencies in the car with extra formula, extra bottle, diapers, wipes and an outfit. I forgot formula once and had to buy it. Same with a bottle.

Wow , you never forget anything in life. I really don’t know how nannies could work with parents like you.
It was much easier for her to don’t charge her diaper at all until she gets home.
Poor nanny spend her money. You have to be thankful for her

I am a mother of 4 kids and this has happened to me--out on a day trip and the baby has a blow out and we end up buying a new outfit at Target/Walmart/Sears/whatever is convenient. If it can happen to me after 8+ years of parenting experience it can easily happen to even the best nanny.

I am a nanny and would have done the exact same thing : would have paid for new pants and paid it with my own money. I would also have refused to be paid back. My mistake, my money

She should have told you when it happened of course but it's no big deal, maybe she thought it was useless.

Op is weird?!

Her mistake shouldn't cost you money . That's why she didn't put it on the credit card.
