4th day? She can't tell you not to take medicine. You should quit asap AND tell her why when you leave.

In her home she can say whatever she wants.

And the nanny can walk out on her.
See how that works?

Actually, no she can't - not legally to an employee. "Your house - your rules" works with guests but not employees. Labor laws still apply.

I don't know where this issue would fall but the blanket statement of "in her home she can say whatever she wants" is simply not true.

But she can be fired for anything so.

She should either quit or be fired. They are not a good match .

Someone anti medicine who would also be anti vaccine, so someone who would likely endanger the child.

Again, actually - no. You cannot be fired for anything. You cannot be fired for denying sex or refusing to break the law, etc. Again, I have no clue where OTC medication is on this list but "your house - your rules" is not applicable to a nanny situation or any domestic employee.

What did you decide to do, OP?

Run far away and don't look back. Do it now and look for another job.

Nannies are “at will” employees and can quit or be fired for any reason at any time unless it is specified in a contract that they are guaranteed a certain period of employment. Look it up.

^ You cannot be fired for refusing to sleep with your boss - "at will" employee or not. Nor can you be fired if the employer finds out you are a certain religion, etc.

"At will" doesn't mean what you think it does, PP. Labor laws still cover "at will" employees.

She’s nuts but can’t you just take it before you arrive? Most last 24 hours anyway. I would keep medications in your car IF you stay with this job.

1. Find another job ASAP

2. Do it ASAP so that you can still use former references, and if you have to reference the time, saying "it became almost immediately apparent that we were not a good fit" doesn't make sense after 6 months

3. Give two weeks' notice, but be prepared to be asked to leave right away

4. Yes, she may be hormonal. If you are hormonal enough to make these sorts of rules, you should not be an employer.
