Hi everyone. Thanks for all the support. It seriously helps. I talked with MB/DB and they were extremely supportive and kind. They said that they consider me family and that they'll be there to help as much as possible. They were so upset to hear about my BF. He and DB are pretty friendly.
They said that I could take as much time as I need off. Both of their mother's are retired and can help while I'm off, they said. I came home from work earlier to find that they had sent over a dinner delivery for us. I am beyond lucky to have them.

How absolutely wonderful. You have such kind and thoughtful employers, OP. It isn't going to be easy but at least you don't have to worry about your job. Blessings to both of you.

OP, I am so sorry this is happening, and at the same time so happy that they took it so well. I've had two devastating deaths while working for two different families, and they were both beyond kind and understanding to me, and I like to think that when it comes to things that truly matter people will often surprise you.

OP here. So my mom died this morning. I'm seriously about to lose it. I honestly can't handle any of this anymore.

If it was my nanny I would hope she tells me so we can look for someone because no matter how much I appreciate her work on a good day I can't take off every other day for her to be at the hospital or a wake or funeral.
