Hmmmm. I've been hired twice as a live-in nanny because they tried a live-out nanny (for a generous salary), but the commute was too long and the nanny bailed. In one case, they had spent 3-4 weeks finding her, and their second and third choices had already accepted other positions. In the second case, they used an agency, but after 3 live-out nannies were sent who were subpar, they looked for themselves. In both cases, they crunched the time to apply, interview and start, and anyone who couldn't meet the schedule was encouraged not to apply. For both families, they did the best they could and yet still had the ability to find a nanny with 5-8 days from posting their position to start date. |
