Can you read? The nanny was hired on an interim basis to begin with. She was going to be unemployed in a few weeks in any event, "at this time of year." |
That is very generous. Let her know at the beginning of the day on fridy so they can do something fun on their last day together. |
| I have been a nanny for a long time and have been screwed over by a lot of employers, but you are doing everything right OP and are being very generous. If you were my employers I would be extremely gracious for the two weeks severance AND vacation time. You sound awesome! For the review on the website try and make it a little longer and list the reasons why you liked her. It bothers me when I work very hard for a family and they write a one sentence review like "She was great!" five stars. |
| 3 weeks pay is great op! This is about the time it takes to find a new job. It can be tricky to find a job this time of the year though. Jan start would have been ideal. |
Wow - that's a lot! $3k? You are being more than generous. |
Creepy you really need to get help going out of the line. you can't even afford to pay any extra you know that right? This show is all about the money remember

$3000 isn't that great. Interim or not this time of year is difficult to find a job, Hope you love the new daycare as much as you think you will! |
$3k is more than the average nanny earns in 3 weeks. It's a very nice severance for someone who's worked for a month and a half. |
|
| You have to give her support until she's get a new job. |
Nanny here, and that is absolutely NOT required. I take as long as needed between positions, to insure a great match, and sometimes it's closer to 3 months before I start. There is no way that I would ask for more than 2 weeks severance and 2 weeks notice in my contract. Because it is my housing as well as my job, nobody has ever had an issue with paying for 4 weeks, although some families preferred to do 4 weeks notice and others to do 4 weeks severance. |
| If your nanny is any good she most likely turned down other temporary jobs to take yours - and now she is being short-changed. How would you feel if the reverse happened, OP, and she left you a month early when a better paying job came along? |
If the nanny is so good she can find a new job very easily. So don't you worry abt her. |
You have given her two weeks to find a job and she moved on what also need to be done? I don't understand why I personally see her at the park.I'm in a group message I follow everything. she was doing a great job. with your KIDS honestly she's a handful but she does her best to make sure the kids having fun. One of the nannys requirement to love your kids before they love their job. Correct me if I'm wrong. if they don't love you kids they don't enjoy the work as simple as that. so you have a problem with that sounds like. I give you zero points on that .Not sure that was wrong I don't believe that was fair. You sugar Coated you feeling everything but we know how much you like her You have told us i heard about it and she's very professional with her job. I'm not sure how you find her neighborhood or agency they know this woman how well experience she has. In fact if you can refer to me I'm happy to talk to her. My friend she just had a baby. PS we seen her at the park almost every day. I think that's great to have a nanny like that.
