| Nice jewelery. Maybe something tasteful with your child's birthstone. |

Oh I love these ideas. The blue apron is perfect! And she loves jewelry so that would be great too. Thanks a lot!
She gifted us a photo book already with all the moments with the kids. I cried. I want to surprise her with something nice. |

We did a shutterfly book for our nanny that included pictures from when the kids were babies until they were big (all pictures with her of course). She was very very close to the kids so this was a gift she treasured. It took me 1 month to create but so worth it! You can also do a SpeakSake (google). Where you have the kids and you record what you love about her and she is able to have as a memory.
since she is living rent free for a few months, the gift doesn't need to be expensive, but should show your appreciation for her. |

Personally OP, I think that you allowing her to stay for free until next year is a pretty nice gift in itself.
However if you do want to do something special for her, perhaps create a nice card or craft if your child is old enough to help out. Or depending on her interests, a gift card makes a great gift too. |
| Thanks for the suggestions |
| Can you bring her something from where ever you're going to be in December. Personally, I'd love a little something from a foreign country whether it's something for the kitchen I hadn't seen here or in colors/patterns not available here or treats/tea/cookies or even something decorative for another part of the house or a scarf or something. |
What are some of her interests? Maybe a gift card if she'll need things for her new place? |
Why is the bolded relevant? Makes you sound petty. |
I was giving background information. You're welcome to skip the thread. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've brought her items from overseas before and she really treasures them. She displays it and enjoyed the food we brought. I think a basket with items will be a hit too. Thanks again for the great suggestions. |
The laundry basket and cleaning supplies would work, if you know what she would use. The others don't work well, not if OP can't come up with anything anyway. OP may not know if she drinks wine, coffee or likes to cook (plenty of live-ins don't like to cook, but do for kids because it's part of the job, and plenty more like to cook but hate following recipes). |
Ugh. Sorry, if my job is ending, no matter how much I love the kids, I don't consider some pictures of your kids a bonus or a gift, no matter how much time you put into it. I have to move on with my life, I don't need albums from each family, thanks. |
Terrible idea!!!!! Jewlery with my charges' birthstones would be the last thing I would ever want! How weird! |
