Most parents don't consider illegal status people to be a qualified nanny. But you keep doing what you want. No one seems to care much anyways. Unless you apply to work in the White House some day.

I just got hired for a position where they had an illegal nanny for 7 years ! So people, things are all based on someone's experience.

Most parents do what works for them. Being legal for the job is different from being qualified for the job. Just having a US passport in no way qualifies you for being a nanny.

Wow.... in colorado parents pay 9-12 for nannies. Im,a stay at home mom, but just saying what people pay out here. That be nice to make 25.00 as a nanny

The top career nannies who tend to earn that range have to meet tremendous expectations. They've proven themselves to be successful with their accomplishments.

The $25 nanny jobs do exist, but the nannies who talk on here about job creep and trying to sway expectations to be as low as possible (no family dishes, no dogs, no cleaning, break time, "right to check personal email during work") are not ones who fit in a $25/hr job.

Yes, that is absolutely true. A nanny sets her own rates. That doesn't mean that it will sound reasonable to any family. Only nannies with rates that sound reasonable get hired.

Funny how no two parents have identical standards, nor expectations.

More wealthy families can afford higher priced more "reasonable" nanny rates if they see the value in it. You can't.

I have paid a high schooler $10 to $20/hr with overtime. People with lower rates were more team players, more willing to listen, not so bitter and more energetic about their job.

Young sitters are more likely to obey you than a seasoned professional nanny. And a LOT cheaper too.
