I wouldn't put your job search on a hold for this family. Keep looking and if they happen to come back to you while you're still available, that's great, but at this point it seems rather unlikely because what they want is not what you want.

I don't understand the problem. They want a nanny share, you don't. So what is the question.

This. I don't understand your dilemma. I suspect that even if they come back to you with an offer, they will decide to do a share sometime in the near future.
