I wouldn't mind at all if our nanny took it easy occasionally whether she got her malady from my kids or not. Everyone has "down days".
The PP who feels her kids have to be active all the time, every single day must had troubled, hyper-active children. I want my kids sit down and read a book. You know - learn something. |
+1 And I have two very active boys. It is good for them to have downtime every so often -- and they do whenever their SAHM is under the weather! |
| I hope so, I'm a nanny who had a whole low key week! Me and charge were both sick so we watch movies, read, play inside, maybe in the yard a little. I know when I hear a kid or parent coughing their lungs out at story time I think wtf why didn't you stay home. No sense going out and spreading germs. |
|
As long as she wasn't full on sleeping on the couch the whole day, I think it would be okay.
Parents need to treat their nannies like the human beings they are...And let them rest and recover when needed. It's only fair. |
But not with pay.... |
No pay if they're working? Hmmm. Interesting concept. Put down the pipe. |

If you, as a parent, lack the common sense to take it easy and not go full throttle when you are ill, please let your potential nanny know you expect her to be superhuman and never relax or recover a bit from illness.
Then all the good nannies can run away from you, and leave you with a desperate not-so-great nanny who will work through strep, influenza, and pneumonia, and you can come here to bitch about how nanny refuses to stay home sick and gets you sick all the time. |
Why is this a question, OP? Do you really care if some nut job parent has ridiculous expectations? |
It's just a question. Don't read into it too much. |
| 9 out of 10 times it is the common cold and takes 2-4 weeks to clear up the virus. If you want to call in sick each time tou get a common cold, go ahead. |
Who the hell are you talking to? This thread has nothing to do with taking sick days. Leave please. |
Yeah, I thought op was just bored. |
