Your nanny is in the wrong, OP. It is her job to arrive at her start time. The fact that she texted this morning is a clue that she was hoping for a paid day off for the weather. Seeing that her start time is well after the morning rush and in plenty of time for roads to be clear, she is just being lazy. |
If you need her at 12:30pm onward that is all, she needs to know. Doesn't matter if your driving a kid to preschool then, grocery shopping or on a conf call.
So she has a different job in the morning? Is that interfering? Is lunch interfering? Is the bus schedule or subway interfering? When she originally interviewed did you both agree to 1pm? Maybe she went and over planned her day jobs then. Just find out the real reason she can't consistently get to your house by 12:30pm. |
+1 It will never do you any good with anyone to try and assign them negative motives, just communicate with her. |
OP never said this is a chronic issue. She said this happened because of the snow. It seems (to me) that the nanny is trying to give herself some extra time to arrive safely at work due to the snow. |
