Oh, shut up troll. Her range is more than sufficient for an infant. They aren't that hard to care for. OP doesn't seem the least bit stuck up and their offer seems very fair. You are probably one of those nannies who tell parents $30/hr is normal and wonder why you are out of work. Get over yourself. You are annoying.

Actually I'm happily employed right now making significantly more than OP is offering for a family that is much less work and isn't stuck up, so I stand by everything I wrote.

Poor family. You are the one who seems stuck up, princess. OP just said she doesn't live in DC. What is your pay? Ms. Queen on her high horse. You still haven't responded to how OP is stuck-up.

And a 3 month old is no longer a newborn. Dumba**

Gee...I was hoping this would go off without a bit of drama.

The "stuck up" comment probably came from when the OP stated that money was not an issue which probably rubbed the PP the wrong way. I personally was not offended by it at all, but can see why certain people could be.

Anyway, OP I think your offer is good and I am confident you will have a very attractive pool of nannies to choose from.

Good luck!

Seriously who writes "my husband is wealthy" that doesn't sound like something anyone not making shit up would ever say.

Specify the exact certifications you want.
Otherwise looks okay.

Honestly, I think it just comes off as bragging. You are offering a standard nanny position, no odd requests, zero extra duties, for well above average pay and excellent benefits. And you are unable to tell if it's a good package? Really?

I have some friends who also employ a nanny and one of them reminds me of this woman. I feel sorry for her future nanny because she will think her compensation package is so above the board that nanny is lucky to have them and will be insufferable with her requests and expectations. I've seen it before. Good luck nanny.

Wait -- none of the vacation is her choice when to schedule? Because the rest of the package is good, you'll probably find someone, but that is definitely a con for your job.

That's OPs M.O., good pay to lure in a qualified nanny then screw them everywhere else. No healthcare, no her-choice vacations, etc. It's a bad deal unless you are desperate.

Anonymous wrote:It's a very attractive package, OP, but if you're in DC, your hourly rate is very high for one child. Just something to think about as you consider the many raises and bonuses you plan.

$18/hr is still high end of the market, but more reasonable the $20+ for one child.

I assume this is a Manhattanite's post or not real. Range for 1 child is way too high for DC area. Even if OP added "native English speaker" qualification.

It's not real.

She said she's in Chicago. And while vacation of her choice of at least 1 week is standard, health insurance is not.

OP here. I didn't write it all out, forgive me. The nanny will get 2 weeks of her choosing. I just stated that we generally take 3-4 weeks of vacation per year. I am definitely not going to screw a nanny over. Healthcare in Chicago is not a requirement but my DH is ok with doing so. My husband and I both make very great livings where money won't be an issue employing a nanny.

We are offering:

$16/per hour for 40 hours ( although she works under that).
Healthcare option and a free parking space.

Your compensation package gets worse everytime you talk. Please reconsider hiring a nanny and just do daycare.

I'm a nanny in a suburb outside of
Chicago. I recieve about 4 weeks of
paid vacation, 8-9 holidays and sick
days. I'am on the books and work 50 hours
a week at 18 per hour. I don't get a health
insurance stipend, wish I did. I think
your offer is great.
