Why on earth are you unwilling to do direct deposit? It would completely solve the problem.
I think you're being unreasonable. It isn't your employer's problem if you refuse to use modern technology like direct deposit, image scanning, or even just ATMS. I would not be ok w/ my child having to go on this errand with you every week either. Occasional errands, sure. Every Friday morning because you won't manage your finances more professionally? What happens when the kid is sick, is enrolled in a class that conflicts with your banking preferences, etc... You're not acting professionally. |

I have always been paid on Friday mornings.
20 plus years of nannying and all my families did this. There is no harm in asking OP. |

| I'd ask or have them do direct deposit. Two of my employers have been to cheap to pay for dd. So I wasn't embarrassed to ask. |

| There's no harm in asking. I'd be fine with my nanny asking for such a small accommodation. I prepare her check the night before payday anyway so giving it to her in the morning is not a problem. Over the years, I have not found a correlation between a great nanny and financial acumen. No matter what their income bracket may be, some people are good with money; others are not. |

+1. You can ask employers to do direct transfer of money from their account to yours. Should not cost money, and more convenient (and don't some banks still charge for checks too?). I think asking for direct deposit is OK. Totally agree with all previous posters. I would not support nanny taking my kids to bank EVERY single Friday. One of my previous nannies did bank errands (have no idea why, I have not been to a bank since we bought our house), and the bank routinely gave them lolly pops. I was furious when I found out! |

| I go to the bank every payday with the kids. Never been an issue takes a few minutes to go through the drive up window. I don't online bank or deposit through an ATM. I'm old school. But if I wasn't paid until Friday evening I would go to the bank on Saturday or Monday morning with my charges. |

| So confused. Do you not have an ATM where you can do this? Is there no branch near you open until noon on Saturdays? I don't think it's an unreasonable request, I've just never known of someone who runs into this issue. Even DH, who uses a Charles Schwabb account for his paycheck has a BOA account for quick money deposits or transfers. |

It can't hurt to ask. The people telling you to manage your finances better have never worked a low wage job and need to pull their heads out of their asses and join us here in the Land of Reality where MOST people live hand to mouth.
What most of the pp's don't realize is if the OP deposits her check in the ATM, snap app, or with a teller after the cut off time (usually 2-3 pm) then it's the same as if OP made the deposit on Monday, meaning she won't have full funds availability until Tuesday...four days after pay day. I think banks are required to make $200 immediately available so OP shouldn't be going hungry over the weekend or anything, but if rent is due then that's different. In a perfect world, this would not be a problem as OP would know in her head the Tuesday is her real payday. But this isn't a perfect world, and it doesn't hurt to ask. IF you scratch their back, they may very well be willing to scratch yours. If not, then find a bank that can accommodate your needs better (snap app) or pick up a bunch of evening jobs to get a savings pad built up. |

| I would ask her...She probably doesn't realize your dilemma and I am almost positive she will work with you on this. It shouldn't be an issue paying you in the morning if that will make it easier on you. |

| My bank is a small credit union and does not have the deposit app. They are far better community members then the big banks so I stay, even though they only have a single location. If you have your home or auto loan with your current banker then switching is not a good option. Having said that, I take the metro all the way downtown every Saturday to make deposits. |
