| Isn't it illegal to record sound? I thought sound could stream live, but not be legally recorded, but maybe that's if the camara is hidden? Maybe it varies state to state? Anyone know? |

It's only illegal to record audio secretly, I think. OPtroll said her nanny knows there are cameras, so if this actually had been a real post there wouldn't be any issues with legality. But it's not so

most security cameras don't record sounds so even if op's nanny knew there were cameras, that doesn't mean she knew, and signed a consent form regarding sound. |

Firstly, OP isn't real and neither is her nanny so this discussion is pointless. Secondly, you do not need to "sign a consent form" to be recorded. |

This is why I am so "Anti-Nanny Cam" OP!
Because people abuse the privilege and use it for the wrong reasons. The reason and only reason for these devices is to ensure the safety of the child to make sure he/she is not being neglected or abused while being cared for by his/her nanny. Not for the parent to watch as the nanny and her kids laugh about farting and burping, etc. What a waste to abuse this privilege. That's why these cameras should be banned altogether. Because people like you abuse them and do not utilize them for their intended purpose. |

| This may be hard but kids lie, are manipulative and are really good at it early on. You said your nanny is new, who cared for the boys prior to her? It's possible your son is saying nanny said it because he wants his former caregivers back, or he doesn't want to get his friends in trouble |
