She is overly cautious, which is definitely a red flag. She questioned this issue aggressively enough that OPs references were concerned enough to warn her. Just because some of you are equally crazy, doesn't mean it isn't a red flag. It is something OP should be aware of as a potential issue and future reference killer, and should make her proceed with caution. Its the definition of a red flag, and like it or not, MBs can give them off too. Nannies should be just as discerning and picky about choosing their potential new employer who is a perfect stranger to them, but will hold their job history and future employment in their hands. |
Well said. Make sure they offer you several references in exchange for yours. This is now basic due diligence. They should have nothing to hide, or do they? It's all you have to go on. Any parent can have a nice house and a smile. |
