How do some nannies work for at home parents? Tips/advice please.

I have to sat that if you have clear boundaries.
Start work when the child is an infant.
Have a consistent schedule
Have a boss who isn't a micro manager
Then it can be very successful, I have had two jobs where this situation was very successful. I also has 1 where it was a nightmare from the worst part of hell.

Do a trial run like 1 week. You will know if u can Handel it by then.

Just don't. Seasoned nanny here. I was fine with one parent at home now both are. The latter just doesn't understand work together, same page and don't let the kids manipulate you. It's frustrating to say the least.

I have a weekend job where the parents are generally around most of the time. It is just different than my weekday job where I have complete control over my charge's day (both his parents are gone all day) and the parents being home takes some getting used to. With my weekend job, I take a more secondary position - which is fine. Then again, my weekend job is with a baby who is happy with anyone at this point - this may be an unworkable situation as he gets older.

I'm a SAHM with part time help. I absolutely adore and appreciate our nanny. I always give ger space, a good break/lunch, and trust her judgement implicitly. We work together as a team when she is here and consider her part of the family. I know she is happy with us. So, it's not always bad - just go with your instinct, the mom should be laid back and the type that won't hover over you.

I nannied for 5 kids with a SAHM. I rarely saw the mom. She was either off with one or two kids, doing errands, or doing volunteer work. It was actually a fantastic job.

I wish I would have never taken this job that has MB here all day. I want to pull my hair out. She interferes and makes things worse. If he cries at all....she'll come out. She has NO idea what's going on and then babies him. He's starting tantrums and I don't give him want he demands. Oh she does. It's just not fun. Skip it. Please.

I can't stand my MB being home all day. She leaves messes all over. Omg the worst part? When my charge is sleeping and I finally get to eat. It never fails she comes in and chats the whole time about what little things I can do. She makes me feel like I have to inhale my food so I can slice shit up for their dinner later. Oh and I love hearing about my charges poops and the cat box while I eat.
