Yes. Try to work with a "normal" family.

Op here.

I guess I'm less bothered by it than most. I was putting a feeler out about it to see what others think about it.

Had a nanny friend quit on her boss for what I see daily as not a big deal.

As for no respect that isn't the issue. My bosses respect me just fine. I also think they know I don't freak out about stuff.

My friend who quit said she couldn't deal with her family doing it.

As an MB, I do sometimes come downstairs before being fully dressed. I don't think the Nanny is uncomfortable with it. She sometimes helps with the dress zipping when DH has left already. No I am not butt naked, but she has seen things like: lacy bras, panties, my bear breast when nursing.

It's always good to check in with others to see if they're comfortable with any questionable behavior.

you have the breast of a bear?!

What's wrong with being dressed in a robe in your home? Completely appropriate.

Haha. My employers are Europeans who have been in USA for many years. So they're comfortable with both cultures. His 20 y.o. son was visiting from France, who has not been here very much. He comes prancing through the kitchen in his tightie whities (however you spell that) to get coffee. His dad was so embarrassed, and ran to get him a robe.

This situation was funny. But in general, I think employers should not be semi-naked around the nanny. It's unprofessional. I especially wouldn't be comfortable with a man doing that.

I've had employers do this from time to time and it seriously doesn't bother me.

I'm not an uptight prude, so no I don't care.

It doesn't make you a prude to not want to see your boss indecently exposed. Would you answer your door with your breasts out? Would you walk around in a towel/your underwear with a repair man in the house? Come on people. I understand its a house, and occasionally things will happen, but to say it makes someone prudish for not wanting to see it? MBs how many of you would like to see your boss in any other state of dress aside from fully clothed? How many of you could carry on a professional conversation with your boss in his boxers/towel? The thought is ridiculous.

I doubt that many women want the nanny to see hubby in his boxers, even if he feels otherwise.

Hope they at least pay you well, to be "their" nanny like that. They seem to really need you around.

So if you were doing a video conference from home you would be fine with being in your robe or half naked because you are at home? Usually even in one's own home, once that becomes a work space, basic rules of the workplace apply - including being dressed. If you have employees coming to your house and you are interacting with them in an employer role, then your home is a workplace.
