That's really great, but everyone knows that isn't their general reputation.

What's your opinion on this?

They clearly have these reputations for a reason.

Lmao you people (yes, you OP) are very gullible. How about checking an individual by focusing on their character, references, experience, attitude, etc, instead of focusing on a country because of an opinion of someone else.. Think for yourself. I've seen flaky and/or horrible caregivers in both of the countries you've mentioned. I've also seen great ones. My point is, each country has their own set of good and bad. Common sense.

When you have a person who is trained and experienced, what good is it, if it's not used? Professionals have standards. While parental whims should be considered, they do not override the real needs of the developing child. Hopefully, the parents support rather than hinder, what's best for the child.

If, on the other hand, you want an obedient servant type of person to follow random demands, it's more intelligent to get a person with little training or experience. This person is more of a warm body who most likely will agree to scrub your toilets and then cook your family dinner. She will not, however, provide much of a strong foundation for your child's education.

The crazy comma-abusing nanny is back.

LMAO. I noticed crazy comma lady before I even read your response.

The best nannies come from other families where they've had long-standing employment. They come from families that help them find their next position because they care about them.

Where they're born? Irrelevant, except only in terms of the enriched language opportunities for your kid(s).

How many Filipino women have you known? Because they have a reputation for being quite sassy, not subservient in the least. Traditional does not mean subservient.

I have known a lot of nannies from Central and South America and have loved all of them. They tend to be warm and affecionate with the children and easily fit in as part of the family. Spanish is also a big plus.
