OP here, so far today it's been quiet around here. Of course I haven't been in the playroom today which is where this thing seems to like to scare me at. Thank goodness the charge had a busy weekend and is sleeping a lot so I can bypass the playroom as much as possible |
When my cousin was around 4 my grandfather passed away. We all grew up with him and were very close. Very often for about a year my family would hear my cousin talking to "someone" and go check on him. Everytime they asked what was going on, he would say he was talking to my grandfather. This is a child who didn't know the concept of ghosts at that age. |
Do they live in an old Victorian house? |
Are you a Christian? I ask because I don't know WHAT I would do if I didn't believe in the almighty power of God to save and protect, because I get so spooked out and scared at those types of things (spirits, etc). I believe in spiritual warfare, though, more so than ghosts/haunted places, so for me, I know I can call upon the name of Jesus in the face of ANY evil, and His name alone is so powerful, that any evil presence must flee at the sound.
If you aren't necessarily a believer in God/Jesus, I would start seeking out what it is you DO believe, because that might just be where you can draw your greatest strength from, especially in times of fear. |
No it's a rambler type house, but newish (>10yrs) |
I am, and I wondered if that would work. It just seems silly to ask God to take a minute from running the universe to tell a ghost to leave me alone, kwim? |
PP here: I know what you mean, for sure. But you absolutely have that right, and God WANTS you to call upon him constantly because His love for us is more than we could ever comprehend. Plus, His omnipotence is what makes it possible for Him to "run the universe" AND answer the calls of His people at all times. It's so crazy to think about, but because He is God, He can be there with you AND also with others around the world at the same time. In fact, He already is there with you, waiting for you to call Him into power. Especially if you have Jesus Christ in your heart and in your life, the kingdom of God is yours alreadt, and is inside of you. Thus, calling upon God/Jesus is the ONLY thing He wants us to do in times of struggle/need/fear/anxiety because we belong to Him, and Him to us. Not just the "big" things, but the "little" things, too. (Even though I'd say the presence of something, whether it be an evil spirit, ghost, whatever, qualifies as a "big" thing! Ha) |
*already |
Oh my. If he is so powerful, do you really think you asking him to tell a ghost to leave you alone will be much of a bother? Also, if Jesus could feed thousands of people with just a little bread and fish, and heal who knows how many, don't you think he can multitask with the best of them? |
Where was this omnipotent God when the tornadoes hit Oklahoma on Sunday? |
