| 16:23 is very strange. She doesn't know that some nannies are very highly paid. |
This is certainly true for some nannies, but I don't think even the majority feel that way. And FWIW, I make more money as a nanny than I did as a (successful) teacher and work far fewer hours. I turned down a new teaching job in order to return to nannying and am so thankful I did. (Although what this says about how we pay our teachers is likely more important than the distinction between how "high paying" nanny jobs are!) |
| Some parents simply want the best education for their child, and can afford it. |
+111111111111 ------- I COMPLETELY agree. Not all nannies are like this but a good majority of them come on these boards with a fragile ego and it shows more than they think. I do think alot lie as well. There was one nanny on one of these posts last year who claimed to have gotten a 12,000 bonus. I've seen threads with people claiming to have worked for celebrities but left because they were highly unhappy with the demanding job and pressure of outsiders and paparazzi. It might be true but when more than one person leaves a similar comment you start to wonder, are they just making this up to look like they have the opportunity to work for high-profile families that weren't 'up to their standards' but turned it down. -- It's this kinda stuff that makes SOME nannies look pathetic almost. Not all, I have nothing against the Nanny career. Just my take on things. |
Some of you are plain jealous. Shame. |
PP, reread your first paragraph and then your second. If you don't see some irony in your own statements you probably should refrain from making any further comments. |
| 6:04 should refrain from her untethered urge to control other adults. |
| 6:51 should try being coherent when he/she posts. |
Is there anything you need help with, dear, or is it just that time of day for you? |
Who are you talking to and what are you talking about? |

The consensus with MBs is that nannies are lazy, stupid, and overpaid.
MBs are jealous and have a lot of guilt about leaving their children for most of their waking hours to a nanny who is the surrogate mother. This jealous and guilt is manifested by treating the nanny as a servant, maid, and babysitter but not treated as a nanny. If nannies, APs, babysitters were treated with courtesy and respect the frustration might end. FWIW, I am not a nanny but my sympathies are witb them. |
| 15:29 nailed it. |

I actually don't think that moms think that their own nanny is lazy, stupid, or overpaid. (Unless of course they made a first hiring mistake and did hire someone who is dumb and lazy.) I do think that many of the nanny posts on this board make you all look dumb, lazy and overpaid which is too bad. There are great nannies out there.
MBs don't offer jobs that include light housekeeping because they feel guilty. The offer jobs with light housekeeping because they don't have time to do laundry and have decided to outsource it. There's really no psychodrama to it all. If you don't want to do anything for 3-4 hours a day while being paid don't take jobs that include light housekeeping. Nannies get pissed off more because its hard to find jobs that allow this much downtime and don't require much real work. Too bad for you. |

15:20, don't presume to speak for a group of which you are not a member.
If everyone on these boards were capable of treating each other w/ some respect, courtesy and professional this would be a much more useful and humane space. The nasty generalizing about nannies or MBs serve no one at all, except those who get thrills from generating tension. |

15:55, too bad for you, for not understanding the basic difference between a nanny and a housekeeper.
There is no job description of a nanny that says to keep herself busy, unless it's yours. A Nanny cares for children. A housekeeper keeps house. Notice the difference? |
