This "nonsense" is federal law. Of course, you can pay someone as much as you want. But, in the case of a full 24 hour shift, you are not required to pay for 8 hours of sleep time, provided the employee could be sleeping. ( so staying up late by choice, pay not required. Kid wakes up, pay required) |
Its not a full 24 hour shift, so I dont believe that law would apply here. OP will arrive in the evening when the kids are most likely already in bed. She sleeps there, and gets them ready for school and drives them in the morning. |
