BCC lawsuit

Wow, an incredible level of detail, and it definitely makes me question the competence of the principal and his ability to follow process.

Is the teacher teaching anywhere else?

Not at all. The lawsuit is new information. But thanks PR dept for wanting to bury this.

Wow. If the Beidleman case wasn’t bad enough for MCPS and the BOE to deal with. Now this.

I wonder if Jackson Lewis will be representing the BOE in this case as well. As far as the Principal goes, whatever happened to not commenting on confidential personnel matters?

I am surprised he is only asking for $150,000 in monetary damages.

Kind of strange, when you read the whole complaint, it appears that the “decorated IB teacher” was teaching …. health?

And in the demand for retraction, Engler’s lawyers state, “It is our understanding that, prior to the start of the term, these students had informed school administrators that they did not want to be in Mr. Engler’s class (something Mr. Engler did not know) because of an unrelated incident that did not involve them and that had occurred in one of his classes the previous year.”

So, that really makes one wonder what the previous incident with Engler was that resulted in two students refusing to be in his class? And is that previous incident related to the reason he was teaching Health instead of IB class?

Para 96 & 97 of the complaint definitely seem to indicate that there was some prior conflict between Mooney and Engler.
