Here you go OP. Print it out or bookmark it for future reference. Next year, Google, "FCPS calendar".

I can only go back to 1980. In 1981, we got it off. It has been off every year since.

Or, say, Google the FCPS calendar?

Come on OP!

YEah, this was pretty lame. How hard is it to go to www.fcps.edu? The calendars are all right there.

Who the hell pissed in your cereal this morning?

I know what the calendar for FCPS says; I questioned whether they had done it before or not because I have co-workers with kids in the same school system who don't recall ever getting Inauguration off (the MLK coinciding in 2013 makes sense, though).

Why must people be so angry when they respond? A simple yes or no would suffice.

OP it would help if you improved your communication skills. Your title asks a question that you apparently had information about and could have looked up anywhere. And here you are above demanding "a simple yes or no". But somehow we're all supposed to intuit that you want a discussion about whether it's happened in years past. As for angry, you're the one who seems like someone pissed in his/her cereal.

You do get that the Title of the post is "Is FCPS off 1/20?"
Not why are they off? Or are they usually off?

Don't get your panties in a bunch because folks can't read OP's mind. People answered the question OP asked (which was discussed for FCPS in another active thread and, you know, google. At which point: oh FFS).

AND two of the posts are for Prince William, which wasn't even part of OP's question.

In 2013, Inauguration Day was on MLK Day, so there was no separate day off.

FCPS had closed for inauguration for as long as I can remember and I've been here since the 70's.

Both January 16th and the 20th are student holidays.

Saw something about this in my child's weekly newsletter. Thought it was odd, as I don't recall the schools closing for inauguration in the past.
