There's not that much new on diaper rashes, sleep training, or sippy cups either. And the thread you posted WAS someone needing help!

I have to respectfully say to you that just because you are bored of the topic, it doesn't mean your readership is bored of it. That particular thread got more views in an hour than most of the topics of the day, and it wasn't trolling or inflammatory. In its title or content. Your reasons for deleting it seem completely arbitrary to me.

But it's your board, so...

Thank you for the opportunity to share my feedback.

However, if boredom and repeating the same points over and over are the new criteria for deleting threads, please delete all future threads on rear facing car seats.

I'd add ANYTHING about vaccines or breastfeeding. Or Trump.

I'm also going to say that most of the topics have been covered before and people *could* just search to see if someone else has had the same problem. However, this board seems to be a constant conversation and topics are rehashed, always with a slightly different p.o.v. I find this forum to be so useful, entertaining and educational. Thanks for running it.

Anonymous wrote:Sorry I just realized this was the forum to post such things. The thread was not even 24 hours old. Why was it deleted? Granted I didn't get to read most of it, maybe it was moving in an unproductive direction, but lots of DCUM threads are OP venting posts. They even start with "vent" sometimes! The first three pages were really supportive too, and offered some fresh perspectives and unity among moms. Can you offer any more insights?

Perhaps because I have read variations of that post almost every day for over 12 years I am not as patient with them as I might be. I also need to give more thought to exactly where I want those type of broad discussion topics. I really want General Parenting to concentrate on the practical issues of parenting infants. So, diaper changing and sippy cups, etc. (I probably need to rename the forum as well). There is another thread about SAHMs that was started about the same time:

I'm not sure how many threads on that topic we need at one time and it just seems that a thread in which someone is asking for help is more important than a thread in which someone is simply expressing her frustration. To be honest, I find it hard to believe that anyone has anything new to say on the topic.

I don't see any connection between the OPs. I have removed the SAHM thread since that was mainly a vent and now that the OP has gotten it off her shoulders, we don't need another mommy war.

Jeff,

I'm probably completely wrong, but are these two OPs the same? Both smell strongly of mommy/married women war trolls to me.
