Daily life can feel like a grind--doing the same chores over and over etc. Any tips or tricks to make it easier/or help you stay organized in order to improve the overall quality or ease of your life? What has helped you or made a difference? I'm looking for anything from things not multitasking, to Marie Kondo-ing, spending more time outside etc |
Taking iron and vitamin D every day. Sounds hokey, but dh and I felt and increase in energy levels a week after starting. I honestly never feel tired anymore. I also sleep 8-9 hours a night too. Best part about teleworking is that I can wake at 7:45 and be working by 8am. When I had my bloodwork done, my iron levels were excellent and so were my vitamin D. The vast majority of the world is deficient. |
Getting more sleep makes everything during the day that I have to do seem easier. That's for one. |
Masturbating right before shower in morning. Have a whole new perspective after that |
At 43, I now realize how important it is to listen to the advice of people who have more knowledge than you. I was head strong in my younger years, and mostly through fortune, came out unscathed. Looking back, listening to experts, to include parents, could have saved me a lot of unnecessary lessons. So my number one advice is to learn to listen. |
Get outside everyday
Take every vacation day your workplace offers. Put up good boundaries with work and protect nights and weekends unless your work truly gives you joy. Some of the biggest stresses in life are actually small annoying things. Bite the bullet and tackle the small annoying things like unpaid bills, a household repair you keep putting off, a closet that's overflowing, etc. Once your home and finances are orderly, the big things will feel more manageable. Pick the one household task you are least good at and outsource it if you can afford to. I'm not bad at cooking, laundry, groceries or home repairs, but I just can't seem to get the house as clean as I like. I outsource that one thing. Limit how much you bring into your house. One in, one out for new clothes. Rent things you are only going to use a couple of times a year like sporting equipment. Sell things off on the neighborhood listserve or donate. Less stuff = fewer decisions to make, less mental clutter. |
Do small things that help boost your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Something as small as a daily walk or work out; taking a multivitamin and vitamin D supplement; sitting in front of a happy light; reading before bed; doing a 5-minute meditation app; calling or texting a friend each day. |
Get outside every day-preferably somewhere in nature.
Value and maintain healthy relationships and nip the toxic ones asap. Get your sleep, take a vacation, and eat healthy. Reward merit. Read adult non-fiction in addition to fiction. Lay out your clothes the night before. Keep thank you, condolence, birthday, etc, cards in stock with stamps. General stationary is okay but some events do deserve cards that are beautiful and bit OTT. Invest in quality. Air your home out for at least 30min/day. Microchip your animals. Travel abroad and actually learn about other cultures vs just staying inside the resort. |
Two simple ones. One concrete, one a little more vague.
1. Take a walk every morning. My DH and I started this during COVID and now it has become a critical part of me feeling awake and ready to start the day. On the off day when it is raining, or I wake up too late, or I have somewhere to be first thing and I miss it, the whoel day seems off. We just take a short walk around the neighborhood, connect on whatever we need to talk about, and get the blood flowing. 2. Create routines. Even a small routine that you do at the same time every day can bring a sense of wellbeing. It can be anything: wake up, make the bed, do some stretches, drink some coffee. Or finish work, take a shower, tend to the plants. Or eat lunch, 20 minutes of social media, ten push ups. Whatever it is, a small set of habits that you do at the same time every day. |

Call your parents once a week. With love. Not because you have to but because you want to. |
Start each + every day w/exercise, followed by a rejuvenating shower‼️
Make your bed & allow enough time to get what you need done. In addition: • Try very hard to sleep at least eight hours uninterrupted every night. Nothing can cause a bad day as much as missed sleep. • Eat healthy and take vitamins if needed. Drink plenty of H2O as well. • Decrease the amount of stress in your life. • Avoid toxic situations ➕ people. • Keep your outer environment clean and tidy. |
I read "Getting Things Done" this past year (well, most of it anyway) and it has really helped me to have all my "to dos" in one place. I really do feel less frazzled.
Beyond that, I just try to stick to the fundamentals (good sleep, daily exercise, healthful eating). If any of those are out of whack I just don't feel as good. |
