Trump voting husband is going to ask for divorce

No, that's not what people are saying. The issue is that Trump is different. He promotes hatred, racisim, homophobia, etc. That is what is too big of a divide to reconcile. You cannot support someone whose platform is racism and hate and act like that doesn't say something about the core of who you are.

As others have said, It depends on if the difference is a difference of values. As a Democrat, I could be married to a member of the Green Party and, as a Maryland resident, I would even be fine if he “threw away his vote” since Maryland is reliably democratic. But there’s no way I could be married to a Trump supporter. If you don’t see the difference, then I guess we couldn’t be married either!

This! My husband and I are rabid Trump supporters. We will accept the results once all is clear. Republicans 2024! Enjoy while you can! Life is still good with us!

Ha ha ha. Great post. Trump is not my cup of tea by a long shot, and never has been, but it’s over. DCUM and the unhinged postings by the crazies on the left have been the BEST entertainment in DC over four years. Cheers!

I’m a clinician and feel confident saying this. So there are likely many problems in your marriage and your husband being a Trump supporter is only one of them. It must not been easy to stand up for your believes being married to a person with NPD. I’m here to tell you that you will get through this and divorcing this man will mean that your kids will spend at least fifty percent of their home lives not in the presence of a bully.

I am a liberal who is squarely anti-Trump, but the problem is not as simple as saying all of his supporters have narcissistic personality disorder. He had over 70 million votes and all of those people are not mentally ill. No clinician would make a blanket statement like that.

As a liberal, it pains me to hear from Pew that white liberals are double the rate of mental illness diagnoses in their lifetimes than white conservatives.

It makes sense because in consistent studies liberals are also physically weaker, poorer on average, less informed and less sexually attractive so mental illness could come from that . I’m one of those .

😂😂😂

Lol right you’re a liberal. Liberals are smart enough to go to therapists and get diagnoses and deal with their problems. Conservatives just fondle their guns and hang out on whack alt right web sites. I bet Donnie doesn’t have formal diagnoses and he’s a one man DSM-V. Because mental health care is only for limp wristed libs, right?

All this proves is that liberals are more open to seeking therapy. Whereas, conservatives will declare they are perfectly fine while strapping on their fully automatic Assault Rifles and shoot up a church, synagogue, school.

You are a joke not a clinician. Have several seats. And I am not even a Trump supporter, I just cannot believe YOUR level of narcissistic unprofessionalism.

+100. If dumbass PP was a halfway decent clinician (what kind, I wonder?), they wouldn’t make these unprofessional and, frankly, dangerous armchair diagnoses. I’m a Democrat but cannot abide such indecency. You should be ashamed of your POS self PP.

Not every narcissist is a Trump supporter but every Trump supporter is a narcissist . The lack of empathy you must have to be able to vote for a person like that is diagnostic. Yell at me all you want but it’s true. Rather be a joke that a narcissist any day.

Look I know it’s shocking to think that so many people have narcissistic traits or the fool disorder but it is true. You have to lack real empathy to have voted for Donald Trump and also feel really entitled. There is a reason so many of these people believe in conspiracy theories. The fact that you belie people who believe in conspiracy theories are just people with normal personalities is misguided

This thread is hilarious! The oh tolerant left is at it again. Not every Trump supporter is bad, just like not every liberal is a Antifa lunatic. I voted on policy, and Trump was the better candidate. Biden was so corrupt and Kamala was way too bad to every consider a vote for this “ black” ( not actually black) woman.

Not sure what I am looking for here, I guess advice on how to deal with this.

My guess is he knows way more about your family's financial situation than you do and he knows it's going to take a huge hit

Go ahead, divorce, and in a couple years of what is considered middle class living for this area, your liberal ideals will start to chip away ...

and for the record, yes, Trump is an obnoxious jerk and says crazy crap

Look, to vote for a man who separated kids from their parents and put them in cages, took out a full page add in a newspaper to say five kids should be found guilty of taping a woman and continue to insist that they were guilty even after DNA proved they were innocent means you lack empathy period.

Yeah. It's one thing for a conservative democrat to be married to a somewhat liberal republican, but so many republicans shunned trump for his outright encouragements of violence and hatred of so many groups of people that if you're not also for that, it can't last.

Maybe OP's husband can find a second wife at a KKK meeting or something.

See? It's this. Not bad people, just people who believed the lies they were told.
